Modern and contemporary
If you head to the most southerly point in Wales you will find the hidden gem of Rhoose Point; rich in wildlife, it has been designated a 'Site of Importance for Nature Conservation'. Its limestone cliffs that line the coast offer stunning views across to North Devon; in addition to these dramatic cliffs, you can enjoy lakes and grassland areas. Despite its idyllic location you are on the cusp of many major cities due to the fantastic transport links – but more about that later.
Built in 2015, this beautiful contemporary property offers everything that a modern family wants and needs in a property. The interior has been stylishly designed, filling this home full of character and personality, from the cosy log burner in the living room to the carefully chosen colours that enhance each room. Let’s find out more about this stunning house.
Home owners joy
“We were looking for a new home and this seemed to have what we were looking for at the time, plus you have the amazing views over the Bristol Channel from all the front bedrooms. The development is really spaced out and there are a number of open spaces for the children. It’s one of those areas where everyone knows everyone and is popular with commuters due to its location, how much you get for your money, and the school catchment area.
The area is stunning and we have loved living by the coast, the walks are breathtaking and spending time by the sea as a family has been something we have all cherished. You also have pubs and shops in walking distance, so you really have everything you need.”
There is lot to admire about this property. The log burner certainly adds some home comforts, and has helped to reduce their energy costs – this home is incredibly energy efficient. You can tell the owners have an eye for design, one of the first areas they added their own stamp to was the garden, the patio area provides a wonderful place to relax or dine in, and then of course there’s the hot tub (negotiable – not included). You can just imagine unwinding after a stressful day of home schooling with the garden lights twinkling and a lovely chilled glass of something in your hand. The raised beds add a wealth of colour and the little touches bring this garden to life, it really is a great space which your whole family can enjoy.
The couple have been working from home during the lockdown and have found that they’ve had plenty of room to work, as the kids have their own space too. Currently they have been using one of the rooms on the third floor rather than the downstairs study, and with that balcony and view, could you imagine a more inspiring place to help your productivity flourish? The study is currently used as a gaming room, and is a great break-out space for the kids, but it could be used in so many different ways. All the bedrooms are a great size and have been stylishly decorated but in a way that could easily be adapted for your family.
Outside you also have a single garage and parking for 4-5 cars on a private shared drive. Now let’s get back to the location; in addition to an abundance of great walks you also have a swimming pool around 2-3 minutes’ drive away, plus a bowling alley, butchers, hairdressers and more. The beaches are just beautiful around here, and you can really embrace seaside living whilst still being able to get to Cardiff in minutes.
The owner travels extensively for work; the local train station is only 4 minutes’ walk away, meaning that he can be in London within 2.5 hours of leaving his front door., The airport is under 10 minutes’ drive away and there is a shuttle bus that is extremely reasonably priced, the owner believes it’s currently around £1 to get to the airport. There are great links via the roads too, and the new roads to support the airport have greatly benefited this area, as you can be on the M4 in 15 minutes.
One of the other major advantages of this property is that they are now in the catchment area of the highly regarded and desirable Cowbridge Comprehensive School.
This home would make a wonderful dream home for you and your family – imagine weekends by the beach, taking long walks through the countryside or quickly popping into Cardiff to enjoy everything this well-loved and dynamic city has to offer. Not only that, you have a chance of getting your children into one, if not the best, comprehensive schools in Wales. But it’s what this property has to offer a family that makes it special, so why not take closer look? You may soon be calling this house your home.
